Was Your Experience with Online Dating, Good or Bad?

I have tried several different online dating methods, and none of them seemed to really work out for me. I ended up meeting my fiancee' in a very serendipitous way. But I still have mixed feelings about online dating; some good and some bad. So please share your experience, and if you have found a site or method that seems to work or one that definitely did not, please include that as well. I was single for a long, long time and several of my friends are fed up with dating and would like to try online. So any information would be helpful. Thanks!

Like I said in another response to one of your discussions, I been with my partner for 1 year. We actually met thru Dating reunited.
I first joined the website as a laugh with my ex-husband (we were friends once we split!!)
I did meet one guy on there that drove me crazy as he was my opposite (saggi - gemini) and I should have known better as my exhusband was also gemini!
My now partner, with whom I am madly in love with is born on the same day as me and if it wasn't for dating reunited I dont think our paths would ever have crossed as we lived over 200 miles apart!
We are now engaged and hoping to be married next year.

Congratulations! My fiancee is a Saggitarrius also. I am a Leo cusp Virgo...and my moon and rising sign are Aquarius...which on the Zodiac wheel is the opposite/complimentary sign for a Leo....so I am pretty much a walking contradiction. But who better to handle me than a Sag?!? it was god for me. When met my guy, it was not dating, we just met to become good friends. Then we fell in love. I feel it depends on the person what he is looking for. My exp was good. After i met my guy, i stopped chattng online and never went out for dating with anyone till date.
