Ok, my husband actually wanted me to start this discussion because he is wondering who all has had to deal with the same thing.
We have run into some minor credit card debt...not near as much as I've heard other people getting into though. For at least 6 months now we have had HSBC calling and calling, even after they have been notified not to.
HSBC controls the credit/financial world and they are evil! We don't know how those people can sleep at night. How do they get some of our numbers. They have called numbers that we just got connected and no one knows we have yet AND they have even called my husband's company that he works for! They are crazy!
I know it was our fault for accruing any debt but we are taking care of it. HSBC just jumps on the first chance they get and they don't let up.
Has anyone else had to deal with them?

I hate credit card companies. They are rude and mean. they threaten with things that have to be illegal too. We had calls once that was so bad that we quit answering our phone. They wanted us to take out a loan to pay them off.. Hello??? Are they for real. Once they start they dont let up and they eventally raise your finace rate till you cant pay them off.

EXACTLY! That sounds very familiar. One time they told my husband that if he paid a certain amount right then that they would quit calling. He paid but did they quit calling? NO!

My husband has a line of credit through them. Though they never actualy call us, when we need to call them for things they are less than eash to deal with. I thought it was just us. They make us jump through hoop after hoop just to get any answers. Plus they told us we would have a 3% rate for 5 years and low and behold 2 years later and for now reason they jumped it up to 17%. We have nver missed a payment or anything. I guess they just started our 5 years when they began the deal 3 years before we got it. I was surprised and upset. Now it is taking even longer to get it payed off.

They will find anything to charge you for. We joke about them charging for ridiculous things like, say, it's a Monday and it's raining in Idaho so they'll charge you 10% interest on you next bill. Or...you sent them a check but you wrote with blue ink so the add another "fee".
We have also been given the "run around" when they call. THey called my husband once and my husband explained everything so the guy said that my husband should talk to so-and-so. He did and had to explain everything all over.

i have a hsbc credit card but i havent had any trouble with them.but i do know my brother has had the same trouble with them. but the best way to get rid of all the hassle is to pay the credit card off or get it paid up to date.you can try to get a unlisted phone number or get a prepaid cell phone.

Yeah, my husband is getting the cards paid off and he doesn't even have them any more...they were his cards...I never used them and I don't have any of my own.
And we do have an unlisted number...we just moved and got a new phone number like a week ago. We haven't given ANYONE the number just for this reason.

look up the federal trade commission, they have consumer laws stated like they cannot contact you by phone after being notified not to, and if they are allowed to call, it can only be once a day. Notify them by certified letter telling them to cease and when they call, read the ftc laws to them. Of course you will get some that say FTC? they dont regulate us? Dont let em scare you. You can also report their actions to the federal trade commission. Hope this helps, hun

Thank you so much...we did know that there was some kind of law against it...reading the law to them is a good idea. So is sending a certified letter. After a while we started to either hang up or just mess with them. They are so ridiculous...and if they want our money so bad they could at least hire some people who speak GOOD english. Most the time it's someone with a foriegn accent and we can't hardly understand them.
