McGrath - Tests (124, 563, 21.64, 2.49, 51.95) ODIs (239, 355, 22.63, 3.86, 35.16) . Akram - Tests (104, 414, 23.62, 2.59, 54.65) ODIs (356, 502, 23.52, 3.89, 36.22) I think Mcgrath is the best.

i think both are in equal calliber but i wil go with Macgraht and there are alot of reasons for this. AS for as tercnique is concern, both are nearly equal but macrath is fathfull to his country but wasim akram was not faithfule. He was a bit responder and make alot of money with bets. And also he make too much in justice with his colegue bowler waqar younis because waqar was going very fast in wicket taking.

I think both are great players, but considering economy and strike rate Mcgrath is better than Akram, His line and length is great

Ofcourse Wasim Akram. Wasim Akram is the Greatest fast bowler ever in World Cricket. No doubt about it !

Well it is diffcult question to say woh is best bowler.Wasim Akram was world best bowler and allrounder cricketer.He has quality how to bowl and he know how to change game and also a good batsmen. And Magrath is world best bowler he is a very good seemer.

hm.........a tough one to answer.. both are good in place and they wer able to vary the pace but akram swings the ball more than mcgrath.. he has a batting advantage than mc grath..and he also bowls well.. thus akram is the best among the two

Akram was much better than Mcgrath in his younger days. But in his latter years, Akram's bowling was much below that of Mcgrath.On the otherhand Akram was a much better batsman than Mcgrath.So I guess it all evens out.

Wasim Akram is the greatest left arm fast bowler game has ever have. There are not too many left arm fast bowlers which come to anywhere near wasim akram's calibre. As of Mcgrath you will find many other great right arm fast bowlers game produced. But we are asked to compare wasim akram and mcgrath. Wasim Akram had more variety in his bowling than mcgrath did. Mcgrath has more control over his line and length whereas Akram at times lost control. I have not checked records, but I guess Akram won pakistan more matches than mcgrath did for Australia. Mcgrath has better averages both in and tests and ODIs in comparison to Akram. It is said that Akram produced two "best balls bowled in cricket history" in 1992 world cup final. Akram was useful everywhere in the world whereas Mcgrath played well on pitches which had support and this is the main thing, to become great you have to perform everywhere, anything you are given to play on. Since mcgrath failed to perform well on pitches where he did not have much assistance and Akram performed everywhere on any pitch, I would go for Wasim Akram. One of my friends here talked about Akram's wrongdoings in matches, agreed upon. But my friend we are here to compare two bowlers on their ability, not personality.
