do black people celebrate abraham lincoln? i mean he was responsible for their freedom...put the usa in turmoil divided the north and south and caused war...to free slaves..i know he was white but back in those days it had to be a white man to free them or martin luther king couldn't have made his i have a dream speech right? i think the kids today have no idea how hard their grandparents worked for their freedom...or gangs would be nonexistent..so just curious is abraham lincoln a hero for black people?

My wife is black and my daughter is mixed. And i can tell you that it just depends on the person. My wife thanks the man but does not celebrate him. My best friend thanks martin luther king not abraham lincoln. Every person has there own hero.
