Do you think there is value in prayer?

Muslims believe in destiny, christians believe in destiny even though they say our destiny is in our hands,they still beleive in destiny. Also, muslims AND christians believe that God is all knowing and all powerful so if He knows whats going to happen cos He's said thats what will happen,what good does prayer really do?Even most people who are neither muslims nor christians believe in fate and in destiny. So,do u think theres value in prayer?

I believe that there is value in prayer. It lets us voice what is in our heart. Do we pray for ourselves, for others? It lets us have that one on one time we all need. It's time not to be judged. During prayer I believe we also listen more closely to what is being said to us. We can look into our own lives.
It's a good question and worth thought.

Thanks a lot for the compliment. But if we need one on one time, how about meditating?just a quiet one on one time with yourself and whatever supreme power we believe in instead of prayer as is put forward by religions?

Why is there a difference in prayer and meditating? It is the same thing to me. If you are calling on a higher being..Jesus to me..... Unless mediating is just quiet thought with no real listening. I believe it can be one in the same. I imagine that Meditating is the politically correct word for prayer. lol

in my opinion,there is a diferrence between prayer and meditation because for both christainity and islam(the only religions i have knowledge about),when praying u actually speak and hardly do any listening while during meditation, u clear ur mind and really listen.

Prayer is important, cos everything is in GOD authorithy. No matter you try hard , no matter you pray all the time, but if HE said no, then it won't happened.
In the other hands , if HE said is it the time, you will have the opportunity smoothly.......

man is not made in the image of GOD, GOD created mankind a greedy and a different creature above all his creation,
GOD wanted human to live life according to his commandment and LAW and GOD knew well, tat its not so easy, so GOD often in the scripture says "Ask for my guidance and I will guide you"
it will be difficult for human to live a peaceful and happy life, we don't often get all we wanted, BUT then WE have to remember the promise of GOD... HE loves one who repent sincerely, HE loves one who seek forgiveness, HE loves when mankind submit his will to almighty GOD and ask for his refuge..
and HE answers too all the Petitions and Prayers, without FAIL
