New Law about Gay marriages...

United States

In the news today I read that a new law was in the works in Washington D.C. regarding gay marriages. They said that the reason why two heterosexual people get married is to reproduce...and they got this information from the Bible. So, now gay people are trying to have a law passed saying that if a heterosexual couple does not concieve within in three years of being married the marriage will be annulled. I personally think this is obsured if this law gets passed. I mean, what if a couple can not naturally concieve?? I just wanted to post this and see what other people have to say about this topic.

So... since when did we lose the separation of Church and State? That law that says religious teachings cannot be used to argue, support, or influence the passing or dismissal of laws? Did I miss something? Did we abolish that when I was asleep? Though that is a very interesting counter-action. If the only reason to get married is to have children, and not to receive the rights allotted to married couples under the Marriage Legislature or because two people are in love and want to spend their lives together, then clearly childless marriages shouldn't be allowed to stand. That would be defiling the sacred institute of marriage as a baby-making arrangement. Since marriage clearly isn't about love or rights or celebrating the bond between two humans who want to commit to one another. Where did you read this? The only news stories I've seen anywhere on anything relating to gay issues is that ridiculous Haggard saga.

Actually, I was listening to a radio station this morning and they were quoting some news network...I forget what it was. It's a NJ News radio station...www.1015.com

Well, I searched the site and I still couldn't see anything substantial on this and it doesn't come up on any official legislature reports. I did see a lot of other unsubstantiated and heavily biased propaganda-esque stories. And I couldn't find any credentials for the reporters. So I don't know how much faith I'd put in that station or the affiliated news site.
