I started babysitting when I was about 11. I was making so much money the summer I was 12 (for a 12 year old anyway - LOL) my mother had me go buy a waterbed and take out a loan to teach me responsibility. My payments were $32/month. I remember it well. Then when I was 15 I started working at McD's and took out another loan to buy my first car (wasn't even old enough to drive).
I was taught money management from a very young age, and I'm really glad my mother did that because now it's just part of life. I budget, save and only spend what I can afford.

I got my first real job on my fourteenth birthday (because that is the legal working age here), doing data entry for a health insurance provider.
