unfortunately, we cannot choose our in-laws - when you fall inlove with someone, their parents come as part of the package. for many couples this isn't a problem, but the fact that in-law jokes have been around for years shows that for many others conflict is nothing new

Nope, nothing new! My mother-in-law is the biggest pain in the butt! She meddles in our business and wants to know everything we do. Fortunately, my husband doesn't tolerate it and lets her know when she's crossed the line. Of course, I can't do that or I become demon daughter-in-law! Now, my husband lucked out. He has two mothers-in-law (due to divorce and remarriage), and both my mothers are great--never butt in, leave us be and let us live our lives. It's not fair!
