I don't think your question is dorky. Infact I think it is quite valid. I don't know if you are **earning points** by using the topic in your answer but hey it can't hurt. And as far as friends go as far as me if I respond to someones discussion, exchange a few messages and if I feel that we share some of the same interest I will request them as a friend if they didn't request me already by then. Pretty much like real life to me. If you connect with someone it is what it is you know. I see you are fairly new to myspace and you'll be getting a rating once you hit 100, so I'm going to give you a positive rating to help you along. Good luck, and remember sincerity will allow you to succeed here. If you don't have knowledge on a topic go to one where you can truly assist the person who posted it. That is how you get quality friends here. This is like a real community.

You earn points by posting discussions ( no points for this) but you will get points for the first couple of responses. You also earn points by responding to other peoples discussions. Once you reach 100 points you get a star rating. To get friends you either ask them or they will request you to be their friend. Look at their profile see if you have anything in common and if you do make the request. Dont be disappointed if the person says no because sometimes some myLot users just have too many friends. Also remember to rate all your discussions and responses. And pick a best response for every discussion you start. Good Luck.

I am lost on here too. But, I am getting good advice from your responses about earning points.

I don't know about mylot.I came here only 4 days ago.I'm busy with my study.I cann't devote a lot of time to mylot.I expected that I could get some foreign friends here. Including you ,my dear friend.
