Do you use a debit card? Or do you write checks on your checking account? I write checks. Which do you think is easier to keep up with?

That is a very good reason to prefer debit card.

I don't even know how to write checks. I don't have a job, so I don't have any cards. So, it's just straight up cash for me.

Cash is the best policy. You, figuratively speaking of course, can't go into debt that way.

I have both checks and a debit card but I mostly use my debit card. I think it is easier to use. I do still write checks out for certain things but when I go to the store or order something online or off the t.v then I use my debit card. :)

So, it's not hard to keep up with the balance then.

I like using a debit card but the tricky part is to remember to take it out of the checking account. I always have to put the receipt right in my checkbook or I forget and then my checkbook is out of balance. The debt card is easier then writing a check all the time. But writing a check is safer to keep your check book in balance.

That is what always had me worried. Main reason I never got one.

I'm always use a debit card to pay, since I don't have an check account, in mycountry to get a check slip we must open an special account that calls "giro", and to get that is a little more hard and using many terms, one of the term is we must have an bussines certification (or somethin like that I don't know what it calls in english).

I somehow think cheque is better if it's fixed amount you spend monthly. If it's irregular maybe debit. I think both are easy to keep up with.

I use my debit card for everything. I do not think it is any harder to keep up with than a check, because I always write what I spend in my checkbook register just like I would if I had a check. For me it is just easier because I can get in and out faster by using it. I could see though how it would be difficult to keep up with if people do not write down what they spend.

Yes, this is true. I can see where they would be faster.
