Do you answer? How do you feel when people calls you using private number? Or do you use or plan to use Private Number? (Or number that is unidentified)

I never answer calls that come in as Private Number or as Unlisted. I assume they are going to be telemarketers or someone else I do not wish to speak with. I figure if someone is going to the trouble of hiding their identity from me, than I most likely don't wish to talk to them. You? Cheers!

Yeah, you are right. Why go all the trouble to disclosed the phone number. I don't usually answer calls from private number unless i know they are from my friends (they know they'll sms me first before calling).

If I do not recognize the phone number on my cell phone, I will not pick it up. I will let them leave a message on my voice mail if it is important. I only pick up when it is a phone number I have stored in my phone or are of close friends and family. I certainly understand that some people do not want people to have their number, especially telemarketers.

I don't answer unless i can see a number. If people hide their numbers or have private numbers then they should respect my privacy. Take care Hh9905

in our country, a call with your number hidden or unidentified is not allowed by the networks here. so whenever we get those Private Number calls here, it's safe to answer them cause it would usually come from abroad, a long distance call. otherwise, it must be from a payphone booth, and if ever i will just find a way to excuse myself politely and hang-up.

Actually, i kind of like the policy that your country imposed. It respects everyone's privacy equally. Nobody should be excluded from this law. May i know what country is it (if you do not mind).

I usually don't answer private numbers because they tend to be people trying to seel me things. If it is important, they will leave a message on the voicemail. I do answer phone calls that display a number though.

Sometimes i do answer Private Number calls. However, if a tele-marketer is on the line, i'll tell them that i'm not interested right away.

I don't answer my phone when the caller is "unidentified" because I'd rather be safe than sorry. In my country, it has been found out that credits can be stolen from one's cellphone by answering an 'unidentified' number. I don't know exactly how it works but a lot of people say it's true. Since I don't want to answer these calls, I wouldn't want to do the same and call others using a private number.

Oh wow, what an advice. I didn't know that until today. Thanks for the information. It is better to take precaution than to feel sorry later. And yes, i won't do it either.

I used to reject the callers. If necessary I just make my phone goes to BUSY tone. Ha Ha. I don't like the private numbers callers. Usually it comes from credit card sales, etc. I think private numbers should be banned this is to ensure we know who is calling and to protect our phone also our privacy.

I thought so and definitely agree with you. Private numbers should be banned. They wanted privacy but do not respect others'.

I will not answer calls when the Private Number appears on my mobile except when my friends who have Private Number sms me first telling that they are going to call. Else, i will not answer at all. I only answer phone calls from people who i know and those whom i can see their phone number appears on the screen.

If a private number or an unidentified number appears on my cell phone, i normally don't answer it. I just feel that people should let me know who's calling. And if they don't then they can leave a message on my voice mail. I do check my voice mail offine. So it it's someone that i do know, then i would call them back.
