Steroids can be very beneficial if used properly in body building. Many feel that athletes are cheating because steroids aren't a safe way to enhance your body, therefore, it isn't an obvious choice for every athlete. The ones that choose to use them get an edge over those more concerned with their health. What is your opinion on steroids in sports or their use in general?

When athletes use steroids they gain an advantage on everyone they play against. It makes them stronger faster than if they took supplements and worked out on their own. I don't think they should be used. If I was a man and a athlete I would want to know that I was great because I worked out also did it all on my own.

Anabolic steroids should never ever be allowed on sports, because it's unfair for others and it's like cheating, but the consequences are terrible because steroids are also had some long term causes for the users or abusers.

Thanks for response. This seems to be the general opinion of the public. To be honest I'm sure the athles feel that it's unfair as well. I'm sure their mentality blocks that out for money though. They also know that others are using and begin themselves to become "even"

using steroids gives an unfair advantage to people. Certain people are willing to destroy thier bodies to win a sport. This is unfair to those of us who value our bodies, and it is very upsetting when all of our hard work seems to be nullified by cheaters.

There is no way that steroids should be permitted in sports. If everyone was allowed to use them, even those athleted that prefer not to will be more inclined to do so in order to compete with everyone else. And, obviously, as the number of athletes that use them increases, so does the number of athletes who become addicted. I really do not think that an increased amount of people addicted to steroids is something that professional sporting organizations (MLB, NFL, NBA, etc.) want to be held responsible for. And, for those that argue that they want the players as athletic and strong as possible to increase statistics and get people more interested in watching, there are plenty of other, less dangerous ways to do so. For example, if Major League Baseball feels they need more offense inthe game, they'll lower the height of the pitching mound slightly to reduce pitchers' leverage, and give the hitters a slight advantage.
