infidelity: to forgive and forget?

if you have been a victim of a spouse or loved one's infidelity like i have, we might be experiencing the same emotional rollercoaster ride. although this happened many years ago, it continues to haunt me like a ghost. is this normal? i have forgiven him, this i know, but somehow i can never forget what happened, the circumstances he had put me and our children into at that time seem to harsh to forget. the pain was unbearable then. but they say that time heals all wounds... maybe i am still in the process. post your comments. i would like to know what you think.
