Well alot of you know that things have gone really bad in Iraq the last year. President Bush has developed a new strategy which includes sending 21,500 more troops to baghdad. Under the current situation, there are alot of mass killings by sunni and shias because of there religion beliefs. Do you believe with more troops there will be a decline in the violence and a return to peace in the area?

I think that the strategy can work, if the Iraqi government stops favoring certain militias like al-Sadr. (It appears that al-Malaki is finally serious, and is making progress).
This plan is more than just throwing more troops in Iraq. It is:
Putting fighting troops in the areas that need it the most, like Baghdad and the Anbar province.
Sending out American patrols around the clock, instead of only during the daytime, which means that militias cannot rule the streets at night.
Keeping forces stationed in areas that we secured, instead of the previous strategy of securing an area, and then leaving it open for militias to re-occupy.
This is a war that we can win, as long as we fight to win it and truly go after the militias. Even if they melt away for a while to hide, then it is to our advantage because this gives us more time to train the Iraqi army, and win the trust of the people through providing better security.

I think you are right on, the strategy can and must win. The media won't tell you If the plan is working but the guys I know who are over there right now say there is positive changes going on.

I don't think Bush himself has a strategy on any thing. He is taking guesses with peoples lives. You can't go to a foreign country and tell their people to change their way of life and belief. The sunnis and shias always had their differences. If he think just by putting more troops in Iraq they are going to be "civilized" as he is he is not living in the same world.

Well, I wouldnt say that Bush doesnt have a strategy on anything? But you are right, the sunnis and shias have in the past and will continue in the future to kill each other when there is a opportunity.

No. If he was a good strategist he wouldn't need another. Talking about flip flop. Looks like a live fish in a frying pan to me.
I have to pay $2 more for a gallon of gas because he sent you guys over there. He has done nothing but create a strain on the American people. Now he wants more money.
He will be known as the joke IF anyone bothers to remember him.
If he was not a draft dodger he would know what he was getting himself into being a veteran of Viet Nam. We didn't win that either. But he isn't a veteran so he wouldn't know anything about that.
