euthanasia (mercy-killing)

Do you think euthansia (mercy-killing) should be legalized worldwide under the following conditions :
* When there is indisputable medical proof that the party seeking euthanasia is suffering from an incurable disease or sickness which entails extreme pain and suffering, AND
* The next-of-kin of such party are also agreeable to such measure?
Before you answer, remember that we shoot horses which are badly maimed, to put them out of their suffering. Should a similar measure of compassion be denied to a human for whom hope of recovery no longer exists and prolonged existence merely means continued agony?
