Why do you join mylot?

There could be as many reason as there as members of mylot why they join. Do you join mylot just because of monetary gain? Or is it just a fleeting interest? or just one of your past time?
I personally join mylot because I love to write and I love to join in discussions if I have the time. Aside from that mylot gave me an avenue to express how I feel and gain new friends along the way. Isn't it nice that you can write what you think and feel about certain issues without being condemned by those you know personally. And the monetary, if there is any is just an additional bonus.
You, what prompt you to join the mylot? What benefits do you gain from it?

I originally joined MyLot to support my g/f who decided to become a member.
I remain a member for a few reasons.One is I like to do something worthwhile with my spare time on the internet.I believe also my tidbits of information may be useable to others and it gives me a chance to share thought and ideas.
I also continue to be a member because MyLot DOES pay and the money goes into my paypal that my g/f uses to support her beading/jewelry making hobby.
While I am still not addicted,I can see where if I do not limit myself in here I could pass the whole day without realizing it.I guess I should be glad I have other interests.

You're gf is very lucky to have you being so supportive. Yes I like mylot too, cause it gives me an opportunity to express myself without holding back beacuse though there are some who can snicker at your ideas, you don't know them personally to bother about them. Thanks for responding and regards to your gf.
