Why doesn't anyone care enough to use proper punctuation?

It seems that the majority of people on here want to talk as if they are using phone-tap input method, or shorthand/ abbreviated IMs. Is it a lack of caring, education, or both?

does it really matter to you that much? if it does you better find another site where you can read remarks with proper punctuations. mylot is a melting pot of all races and we, for example Filipinos, were welcomed here. We shouldn't have learned English but then most of us wanted to. Bilingual, multilingual or not, the most important thing is you get your ideas across.

What's race got to do with it? If you're going to learn the language, do it right. Why do a half-assed job?

I think you asking an awful lot of many board users. Clear your mind of
all those memories of alt binaries when they were inhabited solely by
academics who typed as if every entry was peer reviewed for publication.
Forget about all of that and remember most people see these discussions
as simply being a text reprisentation of a verbal conversation. I think
this would explain the lack of punctuation. Have you ever heard anytone
say "The other day I had a great idea semi colon pause I decided to go to
the park" In short if people don't say they aren't going to type it.

Forget about academics. For all of the people out there so self-conscious
about how they appear (myspace) how did it become suddenly trendy to present themselves as dumb?
