I will tell you now, steam cleaners are the best thing for that. The big ones are a lot better than the handheld models. I purchased my bissle from walmart for under $100 and it is well worth it. Using it on your carpet once will show you how much your vaccum leaves behind, not to mention how well it gets the stains out. My tip for one of those is, use the oxyclean carpet cleaner and pretreater, wash the carpet first with only water in the tank, then go back over it with the shampoo, then rinse with water again. Usually this does the trick for me. Also, have you tried Goo Gone? It is pretty good too.

I know that if the part of the wall was just knocked into the wall you can use gum to pull it out and plaster it back together, but I don't know how great that fix is. You might try your local home hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot, they have a lot of quick fix tips and help there.

Recently a new type of coating is available and if it is sprayed, the stains can be claned. This coating is used for sofa sets, car upholstery. There are lot of laundaries which take up carpet cleaning.
