is religion that important for you to have salvation?

nowadays, there are lots of religions popping out everywhere. i just cant understand why some of them argued who is telling the truth and not. for me, religion is not the key to salvation. it's your faith and trust to the one above. as long as you believe in Him and have faith, its enough. of course, you have to confess all your sins and do the right thing in the long run. you don't have to be confused with the religions around the corner.
