Yes, hard work leads to success but what type of success depends on what goals you want to achieve in life. Some people are after simple goals while others, more complex and ambitious.
In aspect to God's grace I think God let me tell you a story. There was this buy I know who took up physical therapy as his major but failed in his board exams so he ends up without a license. This guy prayed and prayed before the exams he even had his pencil blessed by a priest so that maybe the pencil might become holy somehow!? When the guy failed I asked him when is he gonna take his second attempt at the board exams. All he said was "I'll just wait for God's signal." End of story, that happened 4 years ago and till now he hasn't done anything.
Moral of the story, God's grace will depend on not only how hard you work but how dedicated you are to getting there. Success is more of a journey to me and not a destination. One thing about the human drive is that once you're done with one goal, you head of to the next, and the next. God is truly gracious but you have to earn it and be worthy of his grace!

Well, hard work can lead to success, and it is by the Grace of God in our lives that we are given a chance and time in our life to be able to achieve these things as well.

Why are there many believers in God who are not successful?
Why are there many non-believers who are successful?
The grace of God is His unmerited favor he bestows to His creation including man. Nobody can be successful without hard work and determination to succeed.
That being said. Hard work and the grace of God are not an "either-or" case. It is "both-and" situation, we work hard believing that the grace of God will see us through.

I think the key to success in life is through learning from the mistakes you make, picking yourself up and starting again when things go wrong. I think success cannot be measured. What is success to one person is not to another. It is a state of mind and cannot be measured by money, status or popularity. I feel that I am a success in my life but I don't have a high paid job with respect and status. I am purely a single mum, with 3 children and make the most of every day. And I have no religous beliefs, I have got to my place in life on my own and that makes me a success.

I think hard work and God's grace upon us lead us to success. Without His presence in our lives, everything we have and do would be worthless. I completely believe that One succeeds due to the grace of God, even if we fail at times, it his His calling. And as God doesn't like spoon feeding us, we need to make use of the abilities within us and work hard with the fear of the Lord. We can't just sit idly and expect God to lead us to success.
