Which is the fastest among Mozilla and Explorer

I am a graduate student. I found that Mozilla is extremely faster than explorer in my college's lab., but when I surf in any SIFY I found that explorer is really fast Can any one spot out Why is it like that I

i use firefox (based on mozilla) at home and explorer in office. i think explorer is a little better in terms of the way it treats javascript/active scripting - like used in gmail/orkut. comparitively, firefox appears to have a much stronger and more stable operability.
