How Do I Wean from Breastfeeding?

I'm a breastfeeding mother. I've been breastfeeding for 2 years now and would like to wean my toddler slowly, in preparation for the second baby (still in the making!). Any suggestions on how to go about this without causing some sort of separation anxiety? I feel that my toddler breastfeeds for comfort, and not really for food. She usually wants to feed when she's sleepy.
