I've allways tried to do what i like, never thinking of money. Unfortunatelly, since we're all trying to live in a material world, money are a necessity. Still, i won't compromise, i will keep doing what i like, searching for satisfaction in my work. What about you?

I'm a realistic person so I'd go for money. Money can satisfy your material needs and it's a person's nature to automatically be satisfied if their material needs have been met. But satisfaction itself is divided into many types... emotional, spiritual, financial..etc. I guess the reason why I answered money is because that's the one that impacts the lives of people the most. You instantly can relate to what poverty and wealth is.

In our society today money became, unfortunately, even more important, being that one thing that we cannot survive without. Thanks for replying and keep trying to find your satisfaction in work, not thinking exclusively in terms of money.

When you are working for someone, there is no such thing as satisfaction, particularly in the present day competetive world. What is the immediate need is money. Keep receiving salaries and keep looking for a job which pays more and where you get job satisfaction. No one can afford to give weightage for satisfaction where the earning is low.

I wouldn't say that you can't find satisfaction in work, being part of a company that isn't yours. Although can be a rare case, you can find a job who can give you satisfaction and have a decent salary. One can reach a point in professional life when is in need for stability rather than migrate from position to position, from company to company. Thanks for replying!

hmmm, if i'm my opinion is, I better choose money first, satisfaction is number two, but that doesn't mean I don't are about satisfaction, since its still on number two, but it is better if I get the money and if I don't get satisfaction, since I still can get the satisfaction by other way, example I can't open a new works as my branch or I can do something that can me forget about the satisfaction but thinks thanksfully that I have this money and can do that thing.

I prefer to have a good job so I enjoy doing it while in the same time i get paid for it. Money is necessity to support our life, to support our family. I've heard someone who made a huge sum of money doing his hobby. He actually made six-figure every year. So i'd like to become like him, doing job i am passionate of it and get good payment.

Agreed, this would be an ideal situation, to actually have a job that you enjoy and be paid accordingly. Setting a higher goal also can help in achiving our targets. Thanks for replying and good luck!

Life is never easy nowadays. We work hard to earn money. It's nice that we're satisfied with our work, but in terms of practicality, I'd go for money. If you earn more, eventually you will learn to love your job and be satisfied with it.

Life was never easy! I guess that it's all about compromises, i was in some previous positions that gave me no professional satisfactions and i had to eventually find an alternative. Thanks for participating in this discussion!

Hi, I was thinking in the same line.Sometimes you are satisfied, happy with your work but people around you compare you with other people having same intelligence and qualification regarding money. That is quite disturbing.

There are several things that needs to add up in addition to get work satisfaction. I have move several times, so, I have several conditions. Here it is: 1. The job has relations with my educational background 2. The job is one from several my dream job 3. The company has unlimited access to Internet 4. The company paid at least in minimum payment that I wants 5. The company has other benefit (insurance) 6. The company is quite big (settle job) 7. The company has day off 2 times a week Right now, my job not fit every conditions that I wants, it lacks no.: 5, 6, 4 (after realize my partner got bigger payment than I do). So, MONEY is part of conditions to get work satisfaction.

I have never had a job where I made a great deal of money - I prefer to do work that I enjoy. As I am currently a college professor - I really like the work and I love the time off. I would rather have less money but more time for my personal life.

Well Mr September this is a good discussion and i could probably write abookk but i won't. I have been to many different kinds of places: retail stores , restaurant, dr's office, fast food, movie theaters etc.....It is always very obvious if the person you meet with there likes their job or not. I know we all need money to survive but why go to work 8-10 hours of the day to be miserable to most proably get a miserable check, to boot. I actually started my last and best job when i turned 18 i worked there for 20 years and unfortuneatley got injured and in a carwreck that has left me disabled. I did not get paid very much at all. I worked at a foster group home for boys...we were paid monthly but very weakly if you not what i mean. This was anon=profit organization. I did not care too much that i barely made ends meet and most times did not. The check i loved the most was when one of my boys crossed the stage to graduate, got on the football team, brought home good grades asked for ahug, wanted to play b-ball, or just said good morning. The emotional paycheck i recieved was enough to live on forever. I lived working with the young men from the home and miss it immensly......but i do have to say there were a lot of politics like at most jobs i am sure...i do not miss that at all. I hate that i could no longer work with this home in the capacity in which i was. I have often told people at place that i have come a course who verynticibly do not like their job, if you're not happy here find something else that you like regardless of the pay because if you're not happy regardless if you make 8,00.00 a month what kind of life are you leading.
