I met my boyfriend online, although a friend of mine actually worked with him so it's a little different from your average meeting online. But I do believe such things can work. Most people who are seriously looking for a relationship don't lie about themselves if they know there is a chance they are actually going to meet that person. I think it is just like everything else in life, you have to be careful about the people you choose to spend time with and if you take the proper precautions you should be fine.

I agree with you XxAngelxX that not all people in the net lied about everything. A true and sincere person will surely give you everything in all honesty. Seriously, I met my man in the net too..though it was a not in public chat..but in my business chat at work. We been long distance mates for over 3 years and every year he has to visit me in my place. But, I really took my time to wait and scrutinized all things about him before I plunge into marriage...and for that, He proves to me that I he is the one. We just got married last year and hopefully will celeberate our one year together as married couples this month. It was a long journey for him to pass on every test before getting me forever. Hehehhe! Yes, it is true that everything in life has no guarantee..there are even people who lied to you face to face or even people you've known for long and find out they can't be trusted. It is matter of wise decision making ang proper precautions..so we just have to be careful. Tks for responding!

with the increase in cyber crimes i m really afraid of trusting people whom i meet on the net.. so going with a guy whom i met on net is something that i cant even think of. but still i got some really really good friends on orkut.

Basic personality traits like eye and hair color are a great start but your profile also needs some color, courtesy of deeper and more creative questions.
Depending on the site you may be asked for information about your astrological sign, favorite hobbies, political stance, smoking habits, and even whether or not you're the life of the party.

Looking at my girlfriend expierience, on line dating is not much promising. Many people lie. Some are just looking for easy love or easy relationship.
I am not saying that all date sites are bad. You have to be very careful.
