Are you doing your taxes online , having someone do them ,or are you doing it yourself? I am getting all of our stuff together to do taxes and I will most likely efile them. I did that last year and then my taxes were just direct deposited into my bank account. Really fast and easy.

With all the good tax software out there now it is almost a no brainer to do it yourself. As long as you keep decent records throughout the year it is fairly simple. I personally like TaxCut, but I switched to TurboTax this year as I got it free. It is not as easy to use, but it still does pretty much the same thing.

Last year, I filed a paper return...complete with multiple forms. Not fun at all...and it was a huge amount of work and paper. This year, I am going to try to use turbo tax...if I can figure out how. Even though my taxes are nowhere near as complicated this year as they were last year, I don't want to go through all of that paper again.

My hubby has gotten everything together and filled out the forms and they are now sent. He did our taxes. Has done so for quite a few years now. Can't wait to get our refund check. He asked me if we wanted direct deposit. Just didn't think I wanted the IRS to have our bank number so easily. If they want it then fill out the forms and all they need to do. Sending it in now we should be getting it within a month, since it is early in the filing season. In the past when we owed we would have it done and wait and send it on the final day so that we would have our money longer before paying. These taxes were originally meant to be temporary and we have to admit that the taxes we pay really don't benefit us much anymore. The whole system needs an over haul to make it much more fair to everyone if we keep it at all. A flat sales tax would probably be much better for everyone.

We are using Tax Cut and going to do the Efiling this year. Saves us a lot of money. If you plan to use a electronic home program, make sure you print off a copy, just to be on the safe side.
