Life is too fragile.

I was up all night. I couldnt sleep a bit. We were sitting in our home, which is close enough to an army base and a hundred new construction sites that we never notice loud noises, when we saw black smoke from a fire. It was a neighbors home, not like a next door neighbor, they lived a few streets away. So I walk out side to see what I can see. There were helecopters in the sky and I was hearing a lot of sirens. I figured it was a fire and went back inside. A few minutes later we get a call to see if we are okay. My husbands father was driving home and got breaking news on the radio. The home was a new build. The family had lived in in for just 2 weeks. I guess when they had their utilities installed there was a gas leak so the gas company fixed it and not they were ready to relight the pilots, or so they thought. The gas company worker and the wife and mother of the family went in the house, ad never came out. The explosion leveled the house and covered the area in peices of it. That was sad for me. To think some young family was moving into a new home When I saw the man on the ground crying uncontrolably I lost it. That could have been anyone of us. That could of been my kids who are now going to grow up with out a mother. That could have been my husband, who works construction, that got killed in the blast. Life is to fragile. Love your babies, tell every one your thanks. Life is to unpredictable, and today may be our last.

Wow, we are neighbors (and it's an Air Force base, not army, btw!) Such a tragic story, the man on the ground crying was the husband of the woman, who was only 24, and a mom. So sad! The force of the explosion really showed when they showed the couch sitting on the neighbors roof!

I watched the news for a while and it just hit me hard. I couldnt even watch it this morning. Usualy I handle things okay, but when it is so close to home, it feels different some how. I would feel bad if it happened anywhere else in the world, but to smell the smoke, and see the people running. It was all to real for me. Thanks for your comments.
