Interestingly enough, I freelance write for the Internet. Therefore, I feel pretty confident in my ability to catch scams. Wrong. I got an email from eBay explaining that my account had been suspended. Since I just bought a cell phone, I figured something happened that I was unaware of...When I clicked on the link provided in the email, it directed me straight to the eBay website. I entered all of my information to verify who I was, and this morning someone tried to take $3000 out of my account at a Western Union. Thankfully, my bank is very small and called me right away. Be careful!!! There are some scary freaks out there trying to take your hard earned money.

In the official eBay emails, they say something about "we will never ask for you to re-enter your information in an email." Good thing your bank is on top of things. Also, if you're selling on ebay, don't sell to anyone asking you to ship to any country in Africa. Even if they offer to pay thrice your asking price. Check Wikipedia's article on cons and scams. They've got an extensive entry on eBay related cons.
