Should Americans Buy American Products Out Of Loyalty To America?

Hello everyone. American car manufacterers such as Ford and General Motors are facing billions of dollars of losses due to various reasons.
It is being said that Ford could actually go out of business, causing hundreds of thousands of Americans to loose their jobs. That includes the many subcontrators who provide materials to the two companies.
Do you think for the sake of the American worker we should remain loyal to Ford and GM even though their vehicles might not be rated as high as some vehicles from Japan and Germany?
What do you think?

#1 Americans need to demand "quality" from American Companies. Especially now, when there are sooo many products from other countries here. If they're going to stay in business, they're going to have to be competetive. If we can't get "quality" from America then we're going elsewhere and believe me there's plenty to choose from. What is your demand on this issue?

I think the quality of American automobiles have gotten better. If you do your maintenance such as change your oil, rotate your wheels, flush your antifreeze and other basic things, an American car can get 200,000 miles.
I just wouldn't want to see our automobile industry fail.
I drive a Ford Windstar and I'm happy with it.
I just don't want to turn our backs on the industry that has done so much to build this country.
