My kids always talk to me when i am on the phone

Has it happened to you that your kids talk to you, sit on your lap or get your attention the moment you use your telephone? It has happened to me countless times. I have reminded them a lot of times not to interupt me when i am on the phone, which by the way is rarely since our phone is hooked on the internet most of the time. But it still happens. It could be get them a glass of water, scratch their backs, ask for pencils, look for the tv remote, etc., things that can wait till im done on the phone. What is the one thing your kid does (habitually) to get your atention?

my 22-month old kid is also like that. i think that's their way of making "lambing" and getting your attention. unfortuntely, they still don't know that in a way, they are disturbing us. what i do is i just carry or kiss him first, just for him to feel that he got my attention right there. then tell him that i'm doing something and i do give him something to play with, or just to entertain himself. then after the phone call, that's the time i tell him what he should and shouldn't do. and try to explain to him the reasons behind.
i guess they just have to understand in detail what's proper and what's not.

Kids are really kids, they live up to their name! It maybe just a phase that they will eventually outgrow. But lately, my 8 and 6 year old is getting the message so what they do now is right what they want to say in a piece of paper and hand it to me when i am on the phone. hahahah!

whenever on the phone, my niece doesnt want my attention, she persistently wants to talk to the person on the other line. i let her sometimes, other times i put it in hands free mode so both of us can hear unless its an important call :)

Lol,I have the same problem. What I like to do is tell them to CLEAN something! Talk about leaving the roon fast. It doesn't work all the time but usually it does. It drives me crazy because rarely am I on the phone. My teenagers hog it up.

LOL I remember when my kids were toddlers, they did the same thing. I dont know what it is but they cant stand it if they are not getting the attention. LOL

surprisingly, my 17mo old hasn't started doing this to me yet...it's my 13yr old girl who has been doing this repeatedly, it is as if she doesn't know that I am talking to someone, sometimes I tell her then we argue...she is very persistent somethimes...

Why do kids do this and now you have me thinking I must have done the same thing when I was a kid. Wow, payback time. LOL
