I wanted to save money on my phone bills, is getting Vonage a great idea?

I am working hard to pay all my bills while at the same time studying. Every month, my salary is not enough to pay off all my expenses. A huge portion of it goes to my phone bills. I live away from my family and I've been using my landline to call them often. I just cant live and keep on going in my life w/o me hearing their voices and knowing they are ok. I am planning to switch to a cheaper provider. Is Vonage guys the best choice?

Nope. Verizon has filed a lawsuit against Vonage. They're not allowed to accept new customers. Or something like that. Their company is really unstable as of the moment! And if it doesnt work out fine, their company has the possibility of closing down. For the best VoIP provider, check out http://www.voip.com

I believe Vonage will work best for you. If you're under their premium unlimited plan, all your calls anywhere in the US, Canada & Puerto Rico will be free. so if you're family is in another state, you don't have to worry about being charged long distance. However, since Vonage is a VOIP, you need to have hispeed internet connection to have Vonage. It won't work with dial up connection. You should have DSL or cable modem.
