How long do you have to be unable to work be fore you qualify for Social Security insurance if it's for health reasons?

I think it depend on your health condition. My daughter got the SSI few month after she was born. I got back pay for the months she was in hospital too. You can go to local SS office and find out. It best you ask them I think things are different in every state.
