To drink diet soda or not to drink? Is the question.

Do you drink it daily? Have you ever wondered what is in them? Have you any ailments since you have been dieting or drinking diet soda? There are alot of reasons the government and some people don't want you to stop drinking diet soda. Money does make the world go round, right?
I have been on a diet due to diabetes for about 13 years now and would drink diet soda. I would always get a headache afterwards for some reason. The headaches starting lasting longer and longer til I stopped drinking it.
I was following my diet as the doctors said but wasn't losing weight as I should have been only to find out it was the intake of soda doing it. Since then, my weight loss was terrific and have continually been losing pounds now.
Strangely enough have other illnesses now that I am really contemplating on now in light of some articles in the doctor's office.
I know not everyone is the same but here are some sites I found very interesting regarding health and diet sodas on the market.
Atlantic Highlands Herald - Diet Soda Less Calories, More Side Effects!

Drink More Diet Soda, Gain More Weight?

A complete list of diet sodas and what is in them:

Please give me your input on what you think and if it has affected your health in anyway or what you thought of the articles. Feel free to state how long you've drank diet soda too and if it has been positive for you all along.

I know I have to be very careful with the diet soda pops I drink. If they have splenda in them I can't drink them at all, triggers my migraines. Many of the ones that use aspertame I have trouble with as well. I believe it's the amount as well as the fillers in them because they will trigger migraines as well. It's one reason I cannot drink generic ones and also Coke ones for a long time. Coke now has switched to splenda so I still cannot drink it. Even many of just the generic aspertame packages I cannot use for the same reason. I cannot use sacchrine at all either. Makes it really rough and too much of the sugar isn't good either. It's a no win situation. For the most part if I stick with Diet Dr. Pepper I do alright. Now and then I'll have a regular drink but usually I just stick with it and don't have a problem with it. I've learned not to bother changing.

Yes, you do have to be careful they have fillers and still think there is something not mentioned in the labels about the sodas.
I found I can't drink any because of bad migraines myself.
They are triggers and worst is I love Dr. Pepper but scare to drink it. Grew up on it and had it in Catholic School.
It never seemed to bother me now that I think of it but don't know if it would since its been years.
Sorry to hear the reactions you get from the other sodas.
I know I use splenda to bake with and sometimes in my coffee. I am not a big fan on using sugar in any form if can help it as I watch my diet very carefully.
Thanks for sharing your experience it has been very helpful!
