I don't need a job, I need a career, something I can be content with, and feel challenged and productive. It doesn't have to be a career that will make me a millionare, but something that makes enough to support my family. Like most twenty-somethings, I am having a hard time deciding what it is that I would like to do when I "grow up" LOL. I just need to find a career that creates somewhat of a balance between money, work, and family. I have researched and researched and come up empty handed. How do you decide what you are going to do for the majority of your working life?? At what point did you say, this is going to be my career?

First you have to examine what it is you really want to do, and combine that with skills, or what you can do. The best career for you will probably not be found in the classifieds, but will be a job you create for yourself.

The people with the most successful careers are people who are doing what they love. Do you have a special skill or talent that people would be willing to pay you for? Do you write, decorate cakes, love to take care of dogs or kids, whatever it is, most people are good at something! Maybe you should visit a career counselor or take an aptitude test that will help you discover your strengths.
