What does it take to become an English Teacher?

I have always been great at English. It is a passion, writing and reading alike. I decided that I would really like to be an English Teacher and I was just curious if there are any others who are already teaching? If so, how long did you have to go to school to get your teaching degree? What age group/grade do you teach? Any and all information is welcome!
