Not getting married this year...

My boyfiend and I are planning to get married early this year, but my Mother passed away just last month and people are saying that we have to cancel the wedding and resched it for next year. My boyfriend is 30 and I'm 27, well it's not we are eager to get married because we're getting older, but it's just that we think that we are ready and it's about time. Should we re sched the wedding or not? What do you think?
