My moods have often been likened to a rollercoaster, one day I'm on the up and I'm feeling great about my self, the next day I'm on a big downer and there's a big black cloud hanging over me! I am very unpredictable. Guess it's what to be expected from an ex-depression guy. My thyroid doesn't help either, makes me moody. Sorry you are having a bad day, I hope things get better for you SOON!

I am sorry to hear that you also go through depression often. I can understand the feeling. Thanks for your words.

I think the main thing is to recognise you are 'in a bit of a poor mood' ... many depressives don't know they are depressed .. so it's good to know you can recognise when you are feeling a bit down .. then like me you can change what you are doing and make things seem a bit better ..

I think we all go through that I know I do. I just like to be by myself and I thinkit helps to be on here. At least it helps me. Just try to be thankful for what you have and better days are coming. I always think of the poor people and how hard they have it. Cheer up!

I have actually made "Depression", "Despair" and any other "Bad Moods" schedule appointments for my attention!!!
Gosh, I mean, who the hell do they think they are? They just can't barge in to my Life without notice! I simply won't have it!!!
Since I've actually fired all of them for interfering with my Work and my Growth, they've actually had the gall to come and try to get their jobs back!
NO WAY! Besides that the available appointment I have to listen to any of thier non-sense is January 4th, 3021, I think it's a tuesday...
May Joy, Abundance and Peace move into your Life and never leave, like a stubborn party guest! LOL!
Blessed Be!

What i usually do is try to gather friends around me and cheer myself up through their words. That is what I did a couple of times in the past week or so here on Mylot, and the wonderful community here helped me to feel *so* much better. People almost always make me feel better more than anything else can. But if I have no way to do that at a given time when I am feeling down, I'll try to go relax and watch a favorite TV program and see if that helps to cheer me up.

We all have moments of sadness or depression. It all depends on what we are going through at the moment. And if you can't seem to figure out why you're sad, sometimes when we as women are about to come near that time of the month, we can feel depressed, sad, upset, etc.
Try to do things you enjoy doing and get out of that blue mood. When I feel sad I do something that makes me feel happy. It works! Try it!

Everyone goes through a depressed state including me. i try to get out of it watching some funny sitcoms or doing something which would keep me engrossed for some time rill I forget abut my mood. Still better I go meet up with my friends. Its the best way to relieve your tensions and brighten up your day. if I cant meet them i call them up and have a long conversation. If they are busy then I resort to calling up girls and flirt with them or if nothing works I try a little booze ;-)

Accurate diagnosis is the first step towards treating the disorder. Hence, self-awareness regarding symptoms of mood disorders is important. Underlying medical illnesses must be ruled out, as depressive symptoms can occur in hypothyroidism, some infections, and with the use of certain medications such as steroids.

Generally if I feel a bit down or fed up I just start doing something different .. seems to work fine for me .. I don't think I have ever felt motivated to do housework, like I know some folk do when they feel depressed ...
I'm more likely to turn on the TV .. or read .. go outside for a while .. but I suppose anything other than carrying on doing what you were doing when you started to feel a bit down would work ..

If we feel depression or mood is off due to some reason, we shold keep us busy in the hobbies that we like most, for example, listen light musin don't listen fast music it may increase the depression.

Oh that's not fair. My sweetlady is off mood today. Cheer up man.
And don't take it as a depression yaar. It sometimes happen that we are not in a good mood. Try to be off routine today. Go out, meet some friends, have a coffee or something at a good hangout place. And ya listen to some music. Music helps us a lot in these type of situations. But some hiphop and not sad songs dear. Have a great time. Wish you a cheerful day ahead. Good Luck.

I don't get depressed just too busy to be bothered with that. A good salad would be in order, dance to some music, get busy with some housework, wrestle with the kids, any number of things would be something to try if out of sorts. The mall would call my name. Not sure since I am not familiar with you enough to really be of help I guess. Hope you feel better!!!

I have several tricks up my sleeve for those 'down' days. First I put on some of my favorite '70s music. Then I find some decadent snackfood (of course it has to be fattening), I get out the photos of my grandaughter, and I surf the internet to my heart's desire. I decide that the day is going to be mine, no grading papers (college professor) and I do things that I want to do!

When I feel sad I talk to my husband about it. No one knows me better than he does anyway. Sometimes he evens guesses right. I ask how he knew and he just says "you had that look in your eye"
He always asks if there is anything that he can do to make it better. He does not mind if I cry on his shoulder, or if I need to talk about anything at all.
He is such an awesome man. :)

That's really a good question.
Let me think what I do to make my mood .....
I love to walk, i do leisure walk a lot. It really makes me feel good. It helps me to think positive about whatever is going in my life.
And if I get chance to walk with my any of best friends, its going to be more positive and relaxing for me.
