what does your name mean,and why did your parents choose it?

My name is Cara pronounced "car-uh", "not care-uh". I was born on St Patrick's Day and Cara is Irish for friend. I used to tease my mom and told her that she only named me Cara to give me a hard time cuz no one would ever say my name right. I can understand if they are reading it and they say it wrong, because let's face it, most of the poepl say it different than I do. But when I say Hi my name is Cara and they say Care-uh back I feel like they must not care enough to pay attention.
