Okay, a few quick tips to get you started.
*Making Money*
1. One of the biggest misconceptions around here is that, the more you post, the more you make. This isn't true. Mylot is about quality, not quantity. Your posts should be well thought out and useful to the discussion at hand. If you make 10 well thought out posts per day, you will receive more than if you make 100 short, one line posts per day.
2. Upload photos. When you first start, you can only upload photos when starting a new discussion. Make them relevant to the conversation, of course. Once you hit 500 points (the number beside your name, updated each time you post), you'll be able to upload photos into your replies as well.
3. Replies should be no less than 4 lines.
4. Your star rating, that you'll see by your name once you hit 100 points, affects your earnings. Now, people are supposed to rate only based on the discussion relevance and not on whether they agree or disagree with you, but it doesn't always work that way. So if you get a few low ratings from other users, and it affects your star rating, this will affect your earnings.
5. When you start a new discussion, be sure to assign a best response at some point.
6. You'll earn more when your answers to discussions are selected as best responses.
7. When you start a discussion, the more replies and the longer the discussion carries on, the better your earnings will be.
*Referrals*
Referrals are people that you refer to the site under your referral link. They'll show up in your referrals page, and you'll make a portion of their earnings. This doesn't mean that you are given what they make, but rather that MyLot will pay you an additional %25 of their earnings. This works for everyone involved .... the people you bring into the site help the site by providing more users, more discussions and more activity, and you are rewarded for bringing them here by the %25 incentive.
Lastly, don't come into this site thinking you're going to make a fortune, you won't. I've seen many get discouraged because they believed they'd make all these hundreds of dollars right off the bat. You'll make a few cents here and there, and it adds up. The point is to have fun, exchange ideas and information, and make a few bucks on the side. :)
Good luck and welcome to MyLot. :)
