What is the significance of Clairs baby and Walt?

The show made such a big deal out of both Walt (Mikes son) and Clairs new baby. Did I miss something, or have they not revealed these details yet?

No you haven't missed anything. It seems Walt has some ability that we have yet to find out. Claire's baby has some sort of significance as well. The psychic was very insistent, which is unusual and thee Others of course kidnapped her and planned on keeping her baby after it was born.

Hmmm. Well if you missed something, I think I did too. Are you in the US or the UK??? Maybe us in the UK are behind you guys on episodes or something, but I don't have a clue about this. Cheers dude.
