Smokers and Ex Smokers: at what age?

I do not smoke but my father-in-law does. According to my hubby, he started smoking when he was in his teens,and even after he had a heart operation ,he went back to smoking not long after he recovered. He does not even try to kick this habit even though he knows how harmful it is.

I started at the age of 8 because I busted my older brothers doing it so they gave me a smoke if I didn't tell. I just ran with it from there until this very day. I know I should stop, but I can't.

I stared smoking at about the age of 33. I was going through a devorice at the time and my aunt suggested to me that smoking would settle my nerves. It helped. I smoked 1 to 1 1/2 pack a day. That was before they started putting warning on them. Then I got down to 2 packs a week. I had quit for about 5 months. Going to stop again when this pack is gone. Smoking has been the least of my worries about health. I know that smoking dosen't help my condition now.

I started smoking at 15 and just quit 2 weeks ago...I'm 33. No health problems yet, that I know of - but who knows what will creep up on me later. I started to be part of the crowd, and kept smoking because I was one of the only ones that looked old enough to buy them...it made me feel important. The rest is history.

Yeah the bad thing about smoking is that you can stop smoking, but result you see maybe after many years. Your lungs are already destroied. I did smoke for a while. I guess I was less that 20 years old. My older friends smoked. But I didn't enjoy it. It was company like event:) My granddad dien of cancer, he was a smoker.

I'm not smoking. My perents almost no smoke.I think I am lucky .My perents must been health to a long time .
