I recently met a very nice gentlemen, who at first, was very sincere. And has always been, will always be. But the bad part is that, he can't seem to stop gambling. Have any of you faced a situation where one of your friends whom you recently met started to gamble or found out they gamble, and how did the relationship progess? And are you two still friends?I lost my so called good relationship with my friend, just because they are too addictive to gambling. (and losing a lot) Or, are you a gambler yourself, and if you do, what is it that makes you so "tied" into gambling. Is it still fun when you lose a lot, and why do you gamble? (Honesty counts)

My mother is addicted to the slot machines. She would always go to the casino without telling us because we would always stop her from going. Her gambling has caused our family a lot of distress. She even introduced us to the casino before, but I immediately gave up (and so did my sisters) when I lost money. I think people become addicted to gambling because once they win, they become more confident that they'd win some more. Once they're losing, they would feel that they have to stay because sooner or later they would win. Some very rich people regard gambling as fun because they don't run dry. My family almost lost our house to my mother's gambling debts. This is a hard lesson to learn. So my message to gamblers out there, listen to other people and learn from their mistakes!

I had a friend once that got in to gambling and he would go to the casinos every night, some times he would come back happy and others he would complain about how much he lost. At first it didn't seem like a big deal but then he would tell the amount that he lost and it was regularly in the hundreds, i told him I thought he should quit going for a while because he was loosing more then he was gaining. Eventually he came around but it was a pretty rough patch.
