Hi Stardust I had the same problem too since long. I have annoyingly large pores on some areas of both my cheeks (right one more prominently) and I've tried everything to cover them up and let them close.I've even asked doctors and beauticians and all they say is "you have large pores"..sigh! But by far the only thing that has worked wonderfully and also temporarily is a good astringent/toner. It really helps close the pores and they of course appear smaller and sometimes almost invisible. I use Neutregena's Oil control Astringent and it is very good. You also might want to stick to a good skin regime like Cleanse (using a good face wash/cleanser) and then Tone (toner/astringent) and Moisturize (with one that suits your skin type) I follow this routine and began doing it 3 months ago, believe me I've seen a tremendous improvement. Hope you find it useful too!:)

Hi,
You can use a facial scrub. Those are really effective for blackheads. Try it, it works. Pore strips can work as well, but I find scrubs to be more effective. Or you buy a blackhead tweezer or something like that I think it is called. You can squeeze the blackheads out but I haven't tried that.

Regular soaps aren't a good pick. Try something that will clean the skin then help close the pores a little. Clearasil is usually used for acne but it can help with black heads. Look for any product that has Beta Hydroxy Acid or salicylic acid in it and that should help. Some people go the natural route and use light therapy (phototherapy) with blue and / or red lights to help.
Good luck!

There isn't anything you can really do to shrink your pores, but making sure they are clean and not clogged can make them appear smaller. You could try using an astringent or clay mask to temporarily make them look smaller. Using a foundation primer or product like Clinique Pore Minimizer Instant Perfector can act as a "spackle" to fill them in.
For blackheads, you could try using a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) such as salicylic acid to clean out your pores. Make sure you find a product that has an effective pH. I have heard many raves for Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid if you are interested in trying it. If you are careful, steaming your face and extracting them yourself can also help.
