Shrove Tuesday always falls 47 days before to Easter Sunday,
so the date varies from year to year and falls between February 3 and March 9.
In 2007 Pancake Day will be on 20 February

I forgot to add, that I also like jam on mine. Syrup makes them too mushy for my taste and I don't like that kind of texture in my mouth. I also like them with a lot of butter and powdered sugar ~Donna

I used to when I was living at home with my parents, about 10 years ago now, mum always used to make me pancakes, I would have about 8 at a time, with sugar and lemon juice on them, I wouldn't have them any other way. I have to admit I've never had a pancake since I left home!

I always make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, that is when I remember what day it falls on lol. We all like ours with chocolate chips in them and smothered in butter. I've also made plain ones which I've served with strawberries and whipped cream. This is always a big hit. And it's a nice change from meat and potatoes :)

I love pancakes, so I make lots of them on Shrove Tuesday. I usually sprinkel lemon juice and sugar on them, but if I have maple syrup handy, I will use that with a generous topping of fresh cream.

I know we used to have them at home when I was little .. but more because of tradition than any religious reason .. and I can't remember having pancakes other than on that one day of the year .. now of course we can and do eat them any time we feel like it ..

Wow, I had no idea you had pancake day in the UK. That is great. I love pancakes any day. We don't have such a thing in the US, I don't think. I like pancakes with chocolate chips in them, or with ginger mixed in, or cinnamon, or even with whip cream on the top. I might even try peanut better on them in the future.

I had never heard of Shrove Tuesday. I live in Ohio in the Unied States. I do like pancakes anyday. I like lots of butter but just a little syrup. Chocolate chips are good too. I guess a person learns something every day.

Yes, I try to have pancakes on Shrove or Pancake Tuesday as it is called where I live in Ontario, Canada. We usually try to have them for dinner. I love my pancakes with butter and syrup. Mmmmmm...it's making my mouth water just thinking about it! ?
