I'm usually scared the most when I'm alone during the night, but the scariest thing that happened to me was when I was finished watching The Grudge and I turned it off to go to bed and I started hearing scratching in the vents so I just sprinted upstairs and just went to sleep.

it was scary at the time but funny now, my wife and I watched the Ring which throughout after watching the mysterious vhs tape peoples phone rang and a scary voice would say they would die in seven days. Being long time horror flick fans my wife and I laughed and enjoy the movie until it ended... and our phone rang! Mind you this is at 11pm and everyone we know KNOWS not to call us that late lol anywayz my wife and I looked at each other shocked then went thru a "I ain't gonna answer it, YOU answer it!" period before I finally picked it up. To my relief is was a nice friendly elderly spanish lady who had dialed the wrong number lol

My scariest experience was back in the days when I was in the military services. I stayed alone in an empty barrack. One night, I woke up and found a huge dark figure sitting on top of me and strangling me. It's real. I was sweating profusely and no words could come out of my mouth. After a while, the figure just disappeared into the thin air. I never dare to sleep alone in empty barracks after that incident.
