I am one who saves all the grocery bags from all the shopping trips I go on. I find this helps me to reduce the amount of garbage I have to throw out because I'm not chucking out a bunch of perfectly good bags. In fact, what I usually find myself using the bags again for the one grocery store I go to. They charge for bags and it just makes more sense to bring your own so you don't have to pay for extra bags. I have quite the collection of bags in our bigger shopping bag for when we do go grocery shopping. This one that we go to all the time charges four cents per bag and I find it silly to charge money for a plastic bag. When it comes to leftover bags we also use them for a couple of chores around the house. They're really good for filling the two small garbage cans under the sink. It really makes sense and it's low cost as well. I also like using them for bagging our empty pop bottles so we can put them into the shed for storage until we take them in for a refund. I use the leftover bags as well to bag my other half's lunch kit. We used to have a lunchbag that my other half used but someone at his work threw it out. There I was all ready to put his lunch together and all I had was just the plastic lunch bags to choose from. That's why I won't ever own an actual lunch bag kit ever again. We also take plastic bags with us when we make a reservation at a hotel. And if the next day some of our belongings or clothing are still wet from when we we're in the jacuzzi. We will use a plastic bag to for bringing home our wet bathing suits, clothing, etc. I also keep bags in a cabinet next to the front door. So that in the summer time or when spring time rolls around we will just grab a few.. So we can scoop up our puppy's little deposits. It also helps to keep odor down by having plastic bags to pick that up with because as soon as you've picked it up you can just put it in the bigger black garbage bag and throw the trash out after that. My other half had his arm splinted for six weeks and he had to have some way to keep the water out of the splint so he wrapped a grocery bag around the whole arm and then he would just shower after that. He found that afterwards it helped to keep his arm still dry. In conclusion.. I think it's best for one to save there grocery bags as they come in handy later for groceries or just every day household use. At least this is what we have found.. Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

I certainly do! I keep the grocery bags and save the good looking ones for future use like when you need to bring along with you some stuffs when you go to a friend's house or work or anywhere you may be and you can't find any nice paper bag or plastic bags you can use. And for those bigger grocery bags, I usually use them for my trash, in that case I don't need to buy the black/white garbage bags, then it saves me money and reduces the risks of pollution.

Sure, I save them and use them as trash bags for some of my smaller cans. It saves money and it's better for the enviornment. Plus, you can also keep them to carry stuff to work or whatever.

Yes. Our helper at home do the same thing, it's like her collection you know.^_^ She likes keeping different kinds of plastic bags, of course for whatever purpose might be needed. Aside from that, it saves us from buying garbage bags and that helps a lot.

No,I don't even use any more grocery bags.I bought several canvase grocery bags so I don't have to use the plastic.Really cool . All I have to do is wash them once in awhile. They are so much sturdier than plastic or paper bags and I don't have to worry about getting a whole .Not to mention it's much better for the environment. I used to use them for trash bags but now I dont' use trash bags.

How do you manage not using trash bags? I keep wanting to switch to canvas bags for groceries, but I can't deny the usefulness of the plastic bags for trash and litter box scoopings. I'd love to eliminate trash bags all together, but can't for the life of my fathom HOW. Advice would be happily welcomed. :)

I use the paper ones to recycle paper products and the plactic ones I recycle and use as garbage bags in the small bathroom areas. I also like to recycle glass plastic and metal. It helps me feel like I am helping with conservation and global warming.

We save all of our grocery bags, both paper and plastic, and re-use them. They come in handy for so many different things, trash, used poop diapers, taking different things places, all kinds of stuff. When we can't find the real diaper bag, sometimes we have a plastic bag one! I don't know how I would eliminate plastic grocery bags from my life completely either!
