So I finally got around to reading this a few weeks ago and really loved it. It was so differen from anything I had rea before.
So my question is, what did you like about it if you read it AND can you reccomend any other books that you really loved that are different.

This book has been on my 'to read' list for a very long time and i'm sad to say that I haven't got round to reading it yet. I definately will at some point though because i've heard a lot of good reviews about it. To answer your second question though, the book I absolutely love is 'Mama Day' by Gloria Naylor. It's unlike anything i've ever read before and I have never read anything that compares to it's brilliance. It's hard to briefly sum up the plot as there's so much going on - it's a love story, magical tale, family tale and a social observation all in one. It also has 3 narrators telling the story throughout so you get lots of different perspectives on what's going on. If you read it let me know what you think.

I enjoyed that book quite a bit. It wasn't my favorite, but it was interesting and I sure would tell others to read it and they'd enjoy it.
as for another type of book my suggestion is Summer Sisters by Judy Blume - its a great book and one I tell all women to read

Yes, I read this book last year. I thought it was very different using that point of view. Something I am sure has never been done before. I really enjoyed the book.
I can't really recommend books because I have read so many. Andrew M. Greeley has written some good ones. The God Game was good, and funny. And Contract with an Angel was a real eye-opener.

A friend of mine recommended it to me several years ago, I got it only cause she said it was good, well, it was past good, it was excellent. It was definitely written from a different perspective. I wish I could find others like that. But that is the only one I have found.

I got this book from a friend and I am just starting to read it now. I think this is a book that I will really like. I just got done reading a book called Water for Elephants. If you havent read that I definitly recommend it. It is really an amazing book and one that really touched me. I guess the lovely bones was turned into a movie as well although I have never watched it and just learned about it today.
