Need the Difference between PPt & PPs....?

How many of them known the difference between PPS and PPT. Its happening in the powerpoint presentation.If a mail comes with the powerpoint attachment,That shows some time pps and other mean ppt.
I dont think any different between those things.But one of my coleage says there is a difference between them.I really dont know the difference...?
If any body known about this, share with me........

PPS you can directly view presentaion ( simply after creating all the slide they will convert them into pps format so that it will goto slides view will directly goto slide show) you cant edit in pps format where as in ppt you can edit.

But in visual there is no difference between them.That why a doubt raise in my mind.Is there any diffrence in thier displays...?

PPTs are those Powerpoint presentations that you create and save in the software. They are like editable presenttaions. PPS files are PPTs that you export as standalone presentations. They are more like executables than editable presentations. (They are used mostly when the PC you'll use to view them has no Powerpoint installed).
