I don't understand why Paula Abdul is one of the judges on American Idol. Not to be mean, but she was never a good singer herself so what makes these people think that she's qualified to tell other people if they're good or not!! She started out as a choreographer and she should have just stuck to that! What do you think??

I like Paula Abdul, but sometimes she doesn't look like she's "all there". She slurs her words and looks like shes in a daze, shes always moving around or shall I say fidgeting and the things she says sometimes, makes me wonder what planet she is on. I tend to go with Randy and Simon is honest and straight up, sometimes nasty but hey, one of them has to be!

I'm not sure either why they chose Paula Abdul either, because you are right. As far as singing, she is just mediocre at best. Simon may not be able to sing, but he has made his living by finding talent that have made it big. He knows what will work and what will not. Paula however, has never been in the business of finding talent; she WAS the talent. To hear her criticize the way other people sing makes me laugh, especially when it is people far better than her. I guess they just needed that judge that was going to have a soft heart to the people that are rejected, since I am sure in the business she was in, she was rejected many times and can relate.

I totally agree with you...but have you noticed that she's getting meaner and meaner each season!! Soon she's going to be another Simon!

I think Paula is a good judge and a good singer and she has compassion and good judgment for the contestants it wouldn't be the same without her
