I've been suffering from an adult acne. They started as small zits but just around 3 months ago things got worst and I got cystic acne so I consulted a dermatologist. Aside from the facial package that I have to complete (5 sessions) and those topical medicines that she gave me, she also gave diane 35. After so long of using topical medicines that seems not to work (I even used Pro-Activ which doesn't work)I think Diane 35 works because only after barely a week of using it I started to notice changes in my skin. I don't have zits coming out during my period. I am just worried about the side effect. Anyone here who have tried using this medicine? Does it works for you? Any side effects? Please give feedback.

I know that Diane 35 is actually a contraceptive. There was a thread in GT about oral contraceptives and one of them is Diane 35. But like all medicines and beauty products, effect varies from person to person. It is best to do your own research and ask another doctor's opinion.
Also, it is best to follow the 3 MUSTS in skin care which are CTM (Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize). Use products that are non-comodogenic as they won't clog pores. Drinking lots of milk and getting enough sleep also helps.

hi! I go to the dermatologist every now and then. I have an acne problem as well with food allergies too that would seem like acne/pimples. However my doctor had not prescribed me that medicine. Usually from my experience she would give me tretinoin and some of my friends also got that from their doctor. using a product that has benzol peroxide has also been said to be good. I am not sure what kind of product is Diane 35. is that the contraceptive pills? Usually contraceptive pills work for acne. However, I tried asking if I could have that same effect too. My doctor told me that with my type of skin it will just have a minimal effect on my pimple problem. Now I only get pimples when I sleep late and when i eat spicy foods. :)
