i have. a few years back i had a wisdom tooth pulled and they told me after it was done i would probably still have some bone fragments to come threw for a shot time, but i wouldnt have to worry about the pain the tooth caused no more. i was like ok at least its gone and i dont have to worry about it no more. well about a year after that i noticed a tooth was beginning to grow back. i called the place where i had that done and they told me it was impossible. i said oh no it ain't wanna see my mouth...lol...so i went and showed them and they couldn't believe it. they said they have never seen that before. has anyone else experienced this?

I can't prove that this has happened to me, but I got my wisdom teeth (all 4 of them) removed about 6-7 years ago. On my lower right side - I will periodically get pain like a tooth is trying to come through. I have been tempted to have them do xrays just to see what's in there.

Wow, that's crazy! My son had some xrays when he was little. He had more teeth than he needed. Well, kind of. What actually happened to him is that his teeth located on either side of his two front teeth, had 2 sets. So, they had to pull out the first set of permanent teeth to make room for the 3 set to come in. The bad news is, he was missing his permeanent teeth on the other side of those. It was weird and strange, but the dentists were able to see this from his xrays. I can't imagine why they didn't see your extra wisdom tooth. LOL

That's a first for me. I've never heard of this happening before. I didn't have to have mine taken out, they had room to come in, thankfully. But I know others who have had to have them surgically removed and it is exspensive, so I hope theirs does not grow back in either. Did the dentist have to pull this one out as well?

This is phenominal! I have never heard of a case where the wisdom teeth grew back. My son had a molar that had a bad cavity in it while he had braces. We either could do exspensive restorative work that was not guaranteed or pull it and let the wisdom tooth come in and band it with the braces, and that is what we did. But none of his wisdom teeth that were extracted grew back. Did they pull it again, or did you have room for it to come in and use the tooth?

Sorry I reposted. I didn't realize I had already posted on this, I should have checked, thought it was a new discussion.

I just got my wisdom teeth pulled today and I am in total pain, mine were taken out surgically and they were expensive for me. But I am just chilling in bed with my vikadin and I read your post and thought it was strange, I really hope that my wisdom teeth dont grow back.
